Structure Fire – 03/20/22

On Sunday 03/20/22 Companies 14, 20, 12, and Tanker 172 were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the area of 191 Warm Hollow Road. Company 20 Engine 209, Utility 202, and Response 206 responded with a crew of 11 personnel. Companies 16 and 23 were also added to the assignment for a tanker, as well as manpower. Engine 209 arrived on the scene of a single story residential dwelling heavily involved. Engine 209 placed an inch and three quarter handline into service initiating suppression followed by three other attack lines. Crews worked on scene for approximately 15 minutes before the fire was brought under control. Crews remained on scene performing overhaul and confirming there was no further fire extension or hazards. At this time the cause of the fire is still unknown.

Upon completion of your payment, you will receive a confirmation email when the purchase has gone through. We will pull your ticket once notified, then write down your name on the sheet with the corresponding number. You will NOT receive a ticket number, to view your number we will post pictures of the tip board periodically with your name listed on the sheet. When all tips are sold, we will scratch the winning number via Facebook live and announce the winner. Please allow us time to pull the tips and post photos to Facebook. The name on Square account will be the name put in the drawing. All prizes need to be picked up in 30 days or prizes will become property of Star City Volunteer Fire Department. Cornhole Tournament

Saint Mary’s Christmas Tree Lighting

Earlier this evening, Company 20 assisted Saint Mary’s Catholic Church with the lighting of their Christmas tree. With the help of Tower 204, Boy Scout Troop 44, and Saint Mary’s church members, the tree was lit just in time for the upcoming Christmas season. Thank you to Saint Mary’s for asking us to assist – we are always happy to serve our community!

Structure Fire – 10/20/15

At approximately 1100 hours, Company 20 was dispatched for a structure fire off of Agronomy Farm Road in Morgantown. As the scene was being approached, black smoke could be seen on the horizon. Upon arrival to the scene, a garage that had caught fire was discovered. Together with Companies 12, 14, and 16, the fire was extinguished in short order. Special thanks to Monongalia EMS for standing by for emergency medical care and rehabilitation.

Slide the City

IMG_3990Slide the City, a 1000 foot waterslide that travels the country, is in town at Mylan Park today! Ambulances 27 and 29 are providing primary EMS for the event until 1900.
