12/24/16: Company 20 was alerted for a single caller report of smoke from a residence on West Run Road. Per protocols MECCA alerted a structure fire response to the area due to limited information from the caller. 20-4 was first arriving on scene in his personal vehicle and found a residential structure with moderate smoke showing from the exterior and called for a full response from all dispatched companies. An aggressive interior attack and search was made by the crew of Engine 201 which limited the fire to one upstairs room and a corner portion of the basement where the fire had burned through the floor. Unfortunately, despite the professional response and actions of all companies involved there was one civilian casualty in the incident. As a result, the WV State Fire Marshal was called to scene and will be conducting primary investigation of the incident.
